Vox Pops

Our group decided to interview people within our target audience. By interviewing them and recording it on a camera we could get a personal response of our questionnaires, it is also a piece of evidence. By doing Vox Pops we have gathered information about our target audience, and also gathered primary research for the task of making our video. The interviews has been beneficial for our research, as the candidates has said that they like the genre we are going to do for a music video. Carrying out these vox pops has help us in our planning as we know what are audience are interested in, we found out that are target audience like the music channel MTV dance, this is a channel that we would aspire for our music video to be shown on which proves we are targeting the correct demographic for the dance genre. Another key thing we learnt from this was the style of music video our demographic most liked this was narrative based videos therefore it will be a good idea for us to design a narrative based video. Therefore the questions we asked has helped us decide on what our music video will be based on considering; genre, style and what it would include, for example a answer that come up was for better looking people to be displayed in future music videos, therefore the actors in our video would have to be good looking and well groomed. One interviewee said that they would like to see more originality in music videos, so we would have to come up with a good idea for a original narrative however still conforming to the dance music video genre. And another said "more development of the story line, so we would have to make a prominent story line for our video.

  1. Your vox pop interviews shows a good understanding of why this form of primary research is essential to planning a production. You just need to expand on the points that you are making and consider in more detail how you will use this form of research to create your music video.
